Pillar post

Clean fuel, dirty fuel.

A way to name the difference between faithful momentum and the anxious energy that eventually poisons the work.

Not all momentum is healthy.

Dirty fuel can make a project move quickly for a while. Fear, comparison, resentment, and proving energy often look productive until the people doing the work start to corrode.

Clean fuel has different fruit.

Clean fuel is not passive. It can be intense, disciplined, and costly. But it leaves behind clarity, courage, generosity, and space for obedience.

The diagnostic question.

The question is not only whether the work is working. The question is what kind of fuel the work is requiring from the people responsible for it.
