A funny thing happened on the way to becoming a grown-up.

I woke up. Sort of the way you hear about on medical shows when the anesthetic wears off and the guy with the split chest is suddenly completely aware of his surroundings. I know how arrogant that sounds - like everyone who keeps a job and does the grown-up thing must be asleep. That's not what I mean, though. I mean that for me, I was headed down a highly predictable path, and something had to break....
